Notes

The XJS did not catch the public's imagination at launch. It had controversial flying butresses at the rear and a raging thirst in the middle of a fuel crisis. But if it started out as something of an ugly duckling it finished up as a graceful swan, lasting for 20 years and expanding to include cabriolets & convertibles.
