Mitsubishi Evo Rally
Galant VR4
Before the Evo's dominated rallying in the mid to late 90's the Galant VR4 was proving that Mitsubishi had the ability to compete and win rallying's toughest events with the Galant VR4. Pentti Arikkala won the 1990 RAC rally in this Galant.

Evo III
The Evo III hit the mark for rallying. It gave Tommi Makinen his first of 4 successive world titles. More effective on gravel than asphalt Makinen won more than half of the rallies in 1996.

Evo IV
The Evo IV was an all new design and carried on where Evo III left off. Makinen gained another world title, by just 1 point from McRae but not bad for its debut season. Richard Burns gained a 2nd and 1st in the 1997 and 1998 Safari rallies - the ultimate test for any rally car.

Evo V
The Evo V underwent many changes from Evo IV and was designed to meet the new WRC rules, moving from the group A rules which the Evo IV adhered to. A slow start to the season was more than made up for in the second half and Mitubishi gained its fisrt world title to go with Makinen's third title.

Evo VI
The Evo VI was not as competitive as Evo V and started to show the age of the Evo package. It still gave Makinen his fourth successive world title and carried on into 2000 pretty much unchanged. It was the end of Mitubishi rally dominance in the late 90's.
